Graphic design and page layout, for non-designers

Do you find yourself creating flyers, brochures, postcards, etc for your boss, your organization, or your own small business? Most people don't have design degrees, but it seems like everyone is expected to design print materials to share with the world. The results can be blah, at best; disastrous, at worst.

This workshop will help you design better! You'll learn how to use simple techniques to help your projects look more attractive and communicate more effectively.

You'll learn how to use commonly available tools--a computer, the Internet, and MS Ofiice--to design projects that follow guidelines for good design. The workshop takes a "before-and-after" approach, showing you typical examples of flyers, brochures, etc, and how they can be improved using a few simple techniques. You can bring in some of your current projects for advice, and then learn-by-doing as you improve them.  

Your instructor Seth Etter is a freelance web professional who designs and develops websites and web applications on a contract basis.
